live from my desktop!

this weekend was relaxing. friday night, mandy and i went to outback. it was probably the worst experience i’ve ever had. bad cut of meat, weak salad, and the bread was even hard. bleh.

saturday i cant remember what we did during the day. i think we just lounged. mandy and i met up with neo for dinner at buck n loons and then we all came back to my house to work on our computers… again. mandy just chilled in my bedroom, while neo and i worked out in the sun room. we finally called it a night around 4am.

yesterday, i sat around all day. it was nice to relax. my sickness has moved into a horrible cough, which leads to me hacking up parts of my lung. quite nasty. sunday night, mandy and i went through my room. mandy really organized my closet very well. i organized my desk and tv stand.

now, today is work. blarg.

down under

i got everything moved out of our old house last night. i’ve got a handful of boxes to go through still, but at least i can do those when i get to them. i’m still sick, my computer still does not work, and i’m tired of being tired.

blarg.

oh yea… the kangaroos down under are going on the pill. who knew? in texas, we shoot invading animals and call it population control.

“A decision to kill 800 kangaroos around Canberra two years sparked uproar and protests from animal rights groups, prompting the local government to look at alternatives.”

and if that was not strange enough… cow’s moo with an accent across the pond. sounds like farmer william needs to stick to making cheese and stop bonding with his animals.

“I think it works the same as with dogs - the closer a farmer’s bond is with his animals, the easier it is for them to pick up his accent.”

can you hear me now?

did not get much sleep last night. i was up and down with a real bad ear ache. i’d toss or turn and i’d hear a pop, then goo would drain out of my ear. i called into work and went to the doctor. he put me on some sort of steroids. i’m just ready to feel better. ugh. at least my throat is not sore anymore. now if i can just get over the drainage.

i got some nice khakis for work and a green shirt mandy spotted at the store. i’ll probably sport new clothes tomorrow to work. it’ll be like a first day of school or something.

any who, i’m off to bed. by dang it, i better sleep well. i cant miss any more work…

cats and dogs

today was a long day. we have a lot going on at work, but work was not even the reason work was long. i still feel so crappy. the antibiotics i started taking after going to the doctor saturday, are kicking in and i am feeling better, finally.

after work, it was pouring down rain at my richardson office. i head out to my truck and was planning on going over coweaters place to pick up a motherboard from him. as i make my way to 190, i heard on the radio that the 60mph+ winds, had high power lines down across 190 and the highway was fixing to be shut down. …yea… they where down right where i was. traffic was horrible.

this is of the backup of people who where going to get on the highway. traffic on the street head was already backed up from a car accident at an intersection just to the right of my picture. a car decided it’d spin around in the intersection and take out a telephone box while it was at it. in the time it took me to get to the light you see ahead, a tow truck showed up and carried the car away. my camera phone could not get a good picture at that distance.
backup

this is the fire truck blocking the on ramp to 190. you can see cars turning around at the top of the ram, and the firemen directing traffic to clear the highway. what a mess.

in the end, my 45 hour trip home took 2 hours.
