penguins flock to texas

this morning, everyone woke up to sleet and freezing rain.  as everyone made their way into work, i laid in bed.  i called in and told them i would not be making it in.  at my work, we must take a PTO day, even if the weather is the reason we don’t make it in.  it turned out to be a relaxing day, but we’ve got so much stuff going on at work, every day is valuable.

after deciding i was actually going to go out to eat lunch with mandy, i headed out to warm up my truck.  i found my doors frozen shut and figured out the trick was to use the ice scraper to break the ring around the top of my door.  heh, i’ve honestly never had that problem before.  once my truck started up, the ice melted away fairly quickly.  it was below freezing outside, but the wind kept the layers thin.

mandy got her photo website online tonight.  after dropping lee’s computer off earlier this week, he showed me a tool he used to create very spiffy photo galleries.  i shared the tool with mandy and she ran with the idea.  she built her entire website on her own.  she even got it uploaded and tested it in IE and FF.  now begins the easier, yet more tedious part of keeping it updated and alive.  in the end, it will help her show her abilities to new clients.

friday is my day off work.  there is lots of stuff i’d like to go do.  but nothing i really want too.  i will probobly make it into work in the afternoon to get a few things wrapped up before the weekend.  …then again, i may just end up relaxing all day like i did today.

bleh, good night, and stay warm.

another day gone

Universal believes that much of the music on portable players is illegal, and the company argues that it deserves a share of the profits from such devices in order to make up for the money lost in album sales.

what a crock of crap.  steve jobs should be in a position to legally tell mr morris where to stick it.

While details remain to be worked out, Fortune has learned that iTunes is close to a deal to bring the Beatles catalog online.

this is a huge deal for the apple itunes store.  the beatles catalog is jointly owned by micheal jackson and sony.  together, they have worked very hard to keep the catalog on vinyl record and cd only.  if this deal goes through, this will be the first time these songs have ever legally been remastered in a digital form that can be sold to the public.
