Happy Tuesday.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil — he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.The other is good — he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one we feed.”

judgement, mercy, and faith
we had a new guy start last week at work and it was a much busier week than normal. i also accepted a new position at work last week; and tomorrow, i start my new role as network administrator. i will be the backup for our only network admin. for the next couple of weeks, i will help another new guy we have starting tomorrow get his feet on the ground and then transition into the new job.
this weekend has been a busier one than the last few. saturday morning i met a co-worker in mansfield, to help him disassemble and move a huge wooden swing set fort thing, with a slide, to his house in plano. the destruction took almost two hours and it was so hot, my shirt was soaking wet with sweat when we where done. the drive to his house took almost two hours because the crappy uhaul trailer he rented swerved all over the road when he hit 60; so we cruised at about 55 the entire way.
saturday evening, mandy and i went to fort worth to shoot a wedding together. it turned out to be a really nice wedding and we got great pictures even though the lighting was really rough in the venue. can lights, are not a photographers friend.
this morning, mandy and i went to her church for sacrament and then sunday school. the sunday school lesson covered mathew mostly. the teacher had people pull random questions out of a box and there was open discussion of how to better fulfill our lives in the work that christ did for us.
my internet has been out all week at my apartment. i’ve enjoyed the quiet evenings without the games, but my adiction is starting to revolt. friday i had timewarner replace my modem, and becuase that did not correct the problem, i’m going to take off work early wednesday so that they can come tell me what the heck is wrong with it. grrr…

old glory

American Girls and American Guys
We’ll always stand up and salute
We’ll always recognize
When we see Ole Glory Flying
There’s a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head
