been thinking of replacing my xv6700 for a few weeks now. i think the new blackberry is a smart choice between the newer expensive windows mobiles phones and the iphone. i want to stay on verizon, but i would like to know if their version of the storm will be a world phone, since the majority of their phone selection are on the CDMA network only, and most countries outside of north america are gsm only.

i did not do a lot over this thanksgiving break.
tuesday was mine and mandy’s anaversary so we had a nice diner out a lone for once and walked around bed bath and beyond talking about ideas of things to register for, for wedding showers and what not. wednesday night, mandy and i took her dad to the hockey game. mandy had given me a brenden morrow jersey for our anaversary so i had to sport it, even though i was so cold.
we spent most of our thanksgiving day at mandy’s parents relaxing. my family went to arkansas and mandy and i decided to stay home to save the money on $3 per gallon gas. after thanksgiving, mandy and i spent some good time relaxing.
i agreed to keep an eye on my sisters dog over the weekend so other than relaxing on the couch at home, i was over at her house playing on the wii, while chonci sat and wondered why i was flaling about like a drunken fool.
today was mandy’s birthday and her and i went by a park in hurst to take some pictures. tonight i round up the boys and nina and we met for diner at on the border. they brought mandy a birthday browney with ice cream that she was unable to enjoy because she is allergic to nuts. (yeah, yeah, i don’t know why she’s with me either.)
i’m sad thinking that i must return to a real week of work tomorow. i have not had a real week of work in the office since before my trip to california. oh well, take care everyone, happy month end. christmas will be upon us soon.

last week was so crazy. i managed to get away from work for a bit to get a ring mandy and i had looked at ordered. she had no clue. thursday rolled around and i worked from 2am to 9am for a video conference in our over seas offices. i went home, then got cleaned up and went to pick up the ring thursday around lunch time.
i had planned to go to the gun range with the guys and mandy’s dad saturday morning. i emailed him early last week to setup breakfast with just the two of us. i figured he was on to me when he agreed right away.
friday i was so sick and i ended up staying home from work. it worked out so that i could take the ring by my mom’s so she could see it and i could tell her of my plans. my family was out of town all weekend so i wanted to catch her before they left for the holiday trip to arkansas. she was excited when i left and when mandy and i got together for lunch with her and stephanie and i could tell stephanie was on to my idea.
saturday morning rolled around and breakfast did not go as planned. i had already told the guys that the gun range would be only mandy’s dad and i, so they could make other plans. whenever we got in to the car from breakfast, i let him know of my plans and we spent the rest of the morning in the car and at the range talking. it was a great experience.
so the rest of the weekend rolled by. i have been telling mandy that i wanted to go to the lake to take pictures of her and i with the tripod just to goof around and see what we could do. i managed to get her up to the north shore where we shared our first kiss and decided we would work on making a relationship out of things.
at the lake, the road to the north shore point where i wanted to take mandy was closed because the water levels have been so high. mandy and i decided to walk down to the shore line to see what things looked like. when there, i setup the camera and convinced mandy we should take a few pictures and see how easy everything worked. having a remote to the camera, i setup the tripod and positioned mandy in the distance. i walked over to her and gave her a hug, then a kiss, and she thought i was just practicing for the real thing some day soon. just when she relaxed and let her guard down, i reached in my pocket and pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me. taking pictures the entire time, this is what was captured…
so tonight we made our rounds to our family’s to show off the ring and get all the congrats and what not. i’m so excited that mandy and i are officially beginning the process to spend forever together. i love her, she really is mine.

it’s been a while since i updated last. i worked two nights this week to setup and monitor a video conference for our over seas offices. video over IP (the internet) is illegal in dubai. the way you get around this is by putting in a connection called ISDN lines. it basically allows the video conference system to call another system, not using the internet connection.
so, wednesday morning i went in the office at 2am and stayed till 8am monitoring the offices connecting to a video conference bridge. the bridge allows mulitple points to connect to each other for a meeting like a phone conference bridge that most large companies have. wednesday morning, half way though our meetings the bridge we where using went down. it turned into a stressfull morning.
thursday morning we used a different bridge and had a person available for support over night, incase we ran into the same problem. things went rather well and the directors where happy to see the video conference system actually work like we’ve been telling them it will.
this morning i woke up and barely have a voice. i’ve had this sore throat crap that everyone else has had over the last couple of weeks. i’m hoping to get a doctor apointment later this afternoon, but i have to wait till the doctors open up today.
tomorow morning i’m going to the gun range with mandys dad and maybe some other guys. then tomorow evening mandy and i are suppose to shoot a wedding together. i just hope i’m feeling better soon.

mandy and i had a great weekend together. we really just stayed in and she got a good portion of her red brick pictures edited and ready to upload and i finally got the dual xeon box up and running. i found out the xeons are 3.0ghz each, so i am going to upgrade my main rig and use it’s current parts for a nice remote access server, maybe at mandy’s house.
this morning mandy and i went to church and then decided we would go get her a nice point and shoot camera for her to carry around. she’s had her eye on the nikon coolpix s4 for some time now, so we went and got it for her. (the s10 is out, but not available in stores at this time, even though it’s been out since last fall.)
tonight we met up with my mom to move a queens size matress to my house and help her move a freezer from her storage to susan’s house. after mandy and i lugged the mattress up to my apartment, we found that the queen is just a few inches longer than the day bed thing that i have in my room. bleh.
tonight we had buck-n-loons in arlington. i love the irish chicken nachos, but those jalapenos, do a number on my stomach.
anyways, the weekend is up, :(
