it’s been a while eh?

it’s been so long since i updated.  i need to get back to writing some real content… think i’ll put it on my calendar…

quakecon was alot of fun.  i went in without any expectations, and it really turned out to be a good relaxing time.  jason even came up from work friday night.

quakecon 2008

this weekend, hambone and i went out to rogcon to watch the hardworkshop.  it was interesting.  i remember when quakecon was that small.  my advice to the rogcon guys would be to offset the quakecon even, by holding their weekend-o-games in the late fall (it’s not like texas fall’s hold much bad weather).

anyway, back to a work week. all of the directors and senior managers are at a staff retreat this week, so it should be pretty quiet around the office.  hopefully i’ll get some good time to push some PCI stuff on through.  the PCI compliance audit we’re doing has generated a lot of work.  not hard work, but very time consuming work.  our deadline is august 31.  i’m sure i’ll be putting in some serious hours over the next few weeks.  then, the second week of september, i’m off to london for a week to assist in the office move going on.  i’m looking foward to going to london, i’m not looking foward to the travel.

mandy got a d-300 this weekend.  she was messing around tonight and snagged this picture.

my love, jeromy

we went walking around the stockyards tonight, i’ll get my pictures up sometime soon…

happy monday, talk to you real soon.

quakecon 2007 recap

i’m back home tonight from quakecon 2007.  all in all, it was a good week, mostly because i was away from work with my mind far away from the projects we’ve been working on.

i did not fully enjoy quakecon this year, and i think mandy summed it up pretty well.  she says that i’m probably not as in to the experience as i used to be, because i’m actually in a position now, where i can do all of the same stuff from my apartment.  i can go download movies and music, and i can host and play games, all from the comfort of my desk chair.

i would have to say, this is the first year, the yelling, pornography, and immaturity in the over all crowd really stood out to me as a minus side to the fun and excitement that the vendors and large gaming crowd bring to the table.  i look back on my ‘prime’ and realize, i was just one of those kids in the crowd.  what happened to me?  am i grown up?

live from the moon

quakecon week. im not that big of a fan of the gaming scene anymore. there is just no appeal i guess. ive scored a few movies, but nothing spectacular.

imet up with mandy today and she set up her laptop. now shes interested in going to quakecon just to edit the pictures she needs to get done.

tonight when mandy and i were on our way home we passed a motorcycle that sounded familiar. as i slowed down, the rider recognised me, it was chris. we road a little way down 820 until he exited. i took my exit on down the road.

sometimes there are little things that pass you buy that you normally would not notice. sometimes, i think that if your looking for something, you will always find something.

chris, if you read this post, drop me a comment. hope the kid is doing good.

its a small world after all, its a small, small, world.
