it has been a long month. i’m glad we’re nearing an end, but i don’t really believe it is the end, at least not at work. the wireless is up by the way, but the drama insues as expected.
the dallas stars won the 3rd game in this playoff round. one more win and we’ll move on to the 3rd round. it would be awesome to see them sweep this round, especially after knocking out the current cup holders (the ducks) in the first round earlier this month.
i should update my blog more often, i have a lot on my mind. my motivation is low. i’ll get to working on it. microsoft live writer is an amazing application that i find it hard to believe it is offered free from microsoft. i should set it up and use it full time for all of the blogs.
if you’re interested in following the stars through these play offs, sign up for a twitter and follow www.twitter.com/dallasstars. it will be myself or one of my friends keeping a live score during the game. while your there, follow me as well (www.twitter.com/winkydo).
deuces.

so i get this very long email tonight from an email address ’serv1@planet.nl’… it starts out very convincing and then spam rolls out onto the table like a burned turkey on christmas night…
Good day,
My name is Mr. Paul Lockett, I am a senior partner in the firm of
Infinity Consultants “Private Investigators and Security Consultants”.
We are conducting a standard process investigation on behalf
of “HSBC”, the International Banking conglomerate.
This investigation involves a client who shares the same surname with
you and also the circumstances surrounding investments made by this
client at “HSBC”, the Private Banking arm of HSBC. The HSBC Private
Banking client died in testate and nominated no successor in title
over the investments made with the bank. I would respectfully request
that you keep the contents of this mail private and respect the
integrity of the information you come by as a result of this mail.
I contact you independently of our investigation and no one is
informed of this communication. I would like to intimate you with
certain facts that I believe would be of interest to you.
You share similar details to the late fellow; I am prepared to place
you in a position to instruct the firm to release the deposit to you
as the closest surviving relation. Upon receipt of the deposit, I am
prepared to share the money with you, that is, I will simply nominate
you as the next of kin and have them release the deposit to you. We
share the proceeds 50/50. I would have gone ahead to ask the funds be
released to me, but that would have drawn a straight line to me and my
involvement in claiming the deposit. But on the other hand, you with
the same very name as the depositor’s would easily pass as the
beneficiary with right to claim. I assure you that I could have the
deposit released to you within few days.
I am aware of the consequences of this proposal. I ask that if you
find no interest in this project that you should discard this mail. I
ask that you do not be vindictive and destructive. If my offer is of
no appeal to you, delete this message and forget I ever contacted you.
Do not destroy my career because you do not approve of my proposal.
You may not know this but people like myself who have made tidy sums
out of comparable situations run the whole private banking sector. I
am not a criminal and what I do, I do not find against good
conscience, this may be hard for you to understand, but the dynamics
of my industry dictates that I make this move. Such opportunities only
come ones in a lifetime. I cannot let this chance pass me by, for
once, I have found myself in total control of my destiny. These
chances won’t pass me by. I ask that you do not destroy my chance, if
you will not work with me let me know and let me move on with my life
but do not destroy me. I am a family man and this is an opportunity to
provide them with new opportunities.
There is a reward for this project and it is a task well worth
undertaking. I have evaluated the risks and the only risk I have here
is from you refusing to work with me. I am the only one who knows of
this situation, good fortune has blessed you with a name that has
planted you into the center of relevance in my life. Lets share the
blessing. If you find yourself able to work with me, contact me
through my email account below. If you give me positive signals, I
will initiate this process towards a conclusion.
I send you this mail not without a measure of fear as to what the
consequences, but I know within me that nothing ventured is nothing
gained and that success and riches never come easy or on a platter of
gold. This is the one truth I have learned from my private banking
clients. Do not betray my confidence. If we can be of one accord, we
should plan a meeting, soon.
Kind regards,
Mr. Paul Lockett

i was messing with mint yesterday on this site and realised i have not updated here in a while. work has been insanely busy and when i get home, i’m either looking for a game to play to get my mind off of things, or i’m looking at not touching a computer again.
now that i have email setup @winkydo.net i think i’m going to look into doing more posts to this blog from email or my cell phone. i would like to keep this site thriving into 2007. in 2006 my blog posts numbers where higher than ever before. i enjoy looking back at what i’ve done and actually being able to remmeber what i did “a year ago today.”
anyways, hope everyone is well. new posts to come soon.

i figured i’d come post an update before bed.
mandy is off to okarahoma for her great granddad’s funeral tomorrow. she’s going up with her mom, aunt, and grandmother. they are suppose to be back sometime monday evening.
mandy got me a new camera today. it’s officially my valentines gift, but it came early because she really just needed someone who would go running around and take pictures with her. she really has not had much time to work with her new camera. last week was crazy, and with her getting braces wednesday, she was not overly pleased with doing much of anything other than try to keep her head above water at work.
thursday night, i went out with some people from work. when i showed up-to the bar i got my first on-call page since i’ve been working with the organization. turned out it involved part of our website that went down for maintenance, just long enough to set off our bot. 15 minutes used to verify everything was alright, and we moved on with the festivities.
friday night, one of the developers meant to run a script on our DEV database, but it really ran on our PROD database. after the script disabled about 70,000 of our user accounts, i got paged by our bot system again to tell me that it could in-to login to the website. we got in touch with the developer who stopped the script and was able to set off a reverse to fix everything. i’m sure we’ll hear all about that 3 or 4 hours of downtime monday. bleh.
anyways, nothing else really going on worth noting. i’ve got a ton of pictures to upload to flickr, but the site is down for maintinance tonight. they’ll come around sometime tomorow hopefully.
ya’ll have a great sunday. i may or may not be watching the super bowl. i dont care who wins, i just need them to score the right number of points each quarter, if you know what i mean.
