life has been flying by lately. it seems like mandy and i just work and work and before we know it, the weekends are over and we’re going back to work. it’s really not that bad, but we’ve just been crazy busy.
it’s good to see the stars beginning to clean up their game. i think that turco has been taking a lot of heat for loosing the games, but our defense lines really need to start cleaning up their act and trust turcalicious to stop the pucks, that is what we pay him to do. if you’re a dallas stars fan, follow www.twitter.com/dallasstars. it’s normally myself, @neotsn, or @txsarge calling the games, live.
the shield is getting really good. we’re down to about 4 shows left of the series. i’m not sure what’s going to happen. it seems like mandy and i work out some ideas of what the next show will be about, then the show ends and we’re left confused, trying to figure out what’s next. i’ve never seen every single episode of a tv show. i’ve seen most of the simpsons, and a lot of the south parks, but the shield is just an awesome show. now i’m looking for ideas on what show to get caught up in next. i’ve been thinking about renting the soprano’s from netflix for mandy and i to watch start to finish. hmmm.
i’m working again this friday night do do an offline defrag of some of our exchange 2007 databases. hopefully saturday i’ll make it out of the house, unlike this last weekend. i keep feel like i’m getting sick, so i’m not sure if it’s just from staring at a computer for so long or not going out to do things like mandy and i used to. bleh, we’re working on getting back on track.
thanksgiving is coming up soon. mandy’s birthday is even sooner. i cannot believe we’re about to see 2008 say goodbye, but to be honest, i’m looking forward to our cruise coming up in march.

as some of you know, i have started leaving my work laptop at work and setup my old ibm t40 with ubuntu 8.04. my big desktop with the dual xeons has been shutdown most of the last 6 months. i am thinking of moving it off to be a file/remote access server and go to the linux laptop 100% of the time outside of work.
hmm, this will get interesting.

it’s late. i’ve been having a hard time getting to sleep lately. then, when i get to sleep, i tend to wake up around 3 or 4 sneezing and needing a drink. i’ll get up, then sleep in and be late for work. yeah, it sucks, if i’m going to be late to work, i’d at least like to get extra sleep in return…
i leave for london next wednesday. i’ll be gone for a week and a half. most of my time will be spent helping with the office move, relocating several servers, and getting the new internet setup with the new voip system, the isp is bringing in.
work has been going better recently. we’ve finished the first round of pci tasks and now we’re just nailing everything down and getting things lined up to complete our full baseline audit by year end. we’ve got a lot of small projects going on here and there, but things are becoming more manageable with better communication taking place between all the worker ants and the management.
the dogs are good, and mandy and i are doing great. we spent this last weekend with our friends and family, and mandy seems to have gotten a lot of photo edit’s off of her plate. the rest of this month and on into october look pretty busy for us, but we’re looking forward to our cruise next march.
we watched the first episode of the 9th season of the shield tonight. looks like this season is going to be good, but bitter sweet knowing this is the planned final season.
you guys take care.

i’ve been going to the hurst citizens fire academy meetings every monday night for 9 weeks now. saturday i went to the fire station and hung out for 10 hours, hoping to get to ride out on the fire truck on a call. whenever i got to the station, the truck had just gotten in from a bad suicide call. we all go in and get situated and 2 hours go by… i’m hanging out in the mess room watching tv… 3 more hours go by and i realize that i may not get to ride out… the guys come in to have diner, they make beans, cornbread, and bratwurst. after diner we go hang out in the watch room and i finally leave at 9:30 without ever getting on the fire truck. bleh… i’m trying to get to ride out again, just depends on if there is another time available.
in tonight’s class, we got to use the power tools to cut two cars apart. aside from the bunker gear being so hot, it really was a lot of fun. we pulled the roof off of a coupe deville and basically tore the cars up.
it’s been fun. our graduation is in 2 weeks. i’ll post a lot of pictures from our class when i get the cd of the 12 weeks of projects. :)
anyway, lots of work going on. i need to get to bed, got to be up early tomorrow. bleh.

it has been a long month. i’m glad we’re nearing an end, but i don’t really believe it is the end, at least not at work. the wireless is up by the way, but the drama insues as expected.
the dallas stars won the 3rd game in this playoff round. one more win and we’ll move on to the 3rd round. it would be awesome to see them sweep this round, especially after knocking out the current cup holders (the ducks) in the first round earlier this month.
i should update my blog more often, i have a lot on my mind. my motivation is low. i’ll get to working on it. microsoft live writer is an amazing application that i find it hard to believe it is offered free from microsoft. i should set it up and use it full time for all of the blogs.
if you’re interested in following the stars through these play offs, sign up for a twitter and follow www.twitter.com/dallasstars. it will be myself or one of my friends keeping a live score during the game. while your there, follow me as well (www.twitter.com/winkydo).
